For a minute there, we were eagerly awaiting for time to lift us out of our Delhi days, further away into our adventure. We were anxiously waiting for the expectations of the vibrant culture, the boasting colors and the blissful people. But we were endowed in Delhi in the mist of negotiators, hustlers, characters and charmers.

Further on down the road, we encountered exactly what we needed to rejuvenate our soul. We were back within the smiles of the kids at Asha Mission, ready to see their creativity burst with colors.

When we told them, they could paint the car wherever they wanted, however they wanted, their eyes light up with smiles. They loved to show off, “Campbell Bhaiyaa (brother) , I painted this green flower. Jonno Bhaiyaa I painted this orange tiger. Stefan bhaiyaa, What is Surfing, can I paint it?”

As we left the Mission to obtain “Ashirvad” (a blessing) for our car, we were told that our journey would have the happiness that it was created in. Created by kids like Susheela, Saleen and Prem. And Prem said it best…

“When I have the chance to paint, to be creative, I feel good and I feel happy. Nothing can bother me because I am happy.”

What we left with is a reminder for the trip, each shade, design and color represents their smile, their energy and their personality. So through our journey, the next 82 days every time we see our car, it’s a reminder of all the happy smiles we get to collect.

    Hi 28states gang!

Car looks unbelievable! It is great to see people let the creative juices of children flow. Too many adults are worried that it won’t be perfect. But that is creative by nature isn’t it! A reflection of the hope within those creating it!

Loving your work and the story through a range of voices! Happy travelling I’ll be tuned in for sure!
