Beginning in Delhi, October 1st 2010, the Surfing 28 States crew will take on the madness of the craziest city on earth. The boys aim to find a unique vehicle that will transport them over the next 3 months thru deserts and jungles, beaches and mountains. During their time in Delhi Jonno and Stefan will be working with Asha Mission: Delhi, an orphanage for 30 children, and Going to School, an organisation that encourages kids to express themselves through the diverse range of art forms. .
The dry deserts of Rajasthan will allow the fellas to escape the chaos of Delhi, followed by the Himalayas and northern states of Kashmir and Punjab.
After hanging in the mountains the journey heads east along the ganges river, cruising thru some of the Holiest cities on earth. Meeting with their close friend and professional skier Lynsey Dyer the crew will work alongside 88 bikes, an organisation committed to donating bicycles to underprivileged children around the world. Following the beauty of central India will be the north eastern Jungles of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam where Sean Wilmore from the Thin Green Line organisation will tour the boys around to national parks where he has spent a lot of time. After exploring the amazing jungles the dudes will skip over Bangladesh and into Calcutta to work with Asha Mission: Calcutta orphanage.
Special guest professional surfer Jon Rose will join the fellas for the entire east coast, searching for undiscovered waves whilst working with Jon’s non-profit ‘Waves for Water’, an organisation dedicated to providing impoverished communities with access to clean water.
The final leg of the trip will follow the boys along the west coast with special guest and good mate Russell Brownley joining the adventure. Jonno & Stefan will take the Our Home orphanage in Kerala on a surfing day trip to the coast, sharing the stoke of surfing with some amazing kiddies. Driving north along the coast will allow the boys to drop and document the work going down with the ‘Surf India’ club before wrapping up the trip in Mumbai just prior to christmas.
